Re: Security
We probably won't have one unless the !@#$ actually hits the fan. We'll just go with one of the options detailed in the "Law Enforcement" thread.
You can still bring your moist nugget, though, should you have one.

Re: Security
I think we still should have some sort of armoury. With some nice weapons for whenever.

Definitely some sort of safe room or bunker as well. Possibly several.
Speaking of which, what other buildings do you think we should have?

Re: Security
Should have at least one rifle for hazardous animals on hand and if caves are present on the property have a silence for said rifle. i have a bow and arrows for general hunting though.

Definitely. Fortunately, with all the /k/ommandos we'll have, I doubt we'll face any shortage of rifles or silencers.

Re: Security
Someone suggested flying drones as their personal side project.
I think that we should try to provide a basic Hunter Safety course for community members that don't have experience with guns. It looks like such a course is a prerequisite for a hunting license in some states, too. Most instructors are volunteers - here is an example of the requirements: How to become a Hunter Education instructor

Re: Security
As a precaution, it may be wise to make firearm ownership and training a must for everyone of age.
The installation of a safe house/armory would be wise as well. I used to make remote controlled turrets (air-soft) that could easily be conformed for security purposes.
As for an inside security force, it may be best if we are all the "security force".

Re: Security
I was thinking we would have a town militia anyways. One of the main goal is disaster prep, so a community militia were we all train together in preparation for the worst, including training in weapons and security. Everyone is the security and at any time the town guard.
